Eileen Inez Walter, a resident of St. Petersburg, Fla. for over 30 years passed away peacefully at Woodside Hospice surrounded by her family.
She was born and raised in Jersey City, N.J. She was a stenographer in New York City and thereafter devoted herself to raising her three children in Roselle Park, N.J.
Eileen was one of three sisters (Mary Faragasso and Rita Drewes) born to the late Margaret and Thomas Dwyer and was the beloved wife of Earl N. Walter (deceased) for over 50 years.
Eileen will forever be remembered by beloved son, Dr. Earl T. Walter and his wife, Linda, daughter, Barbara Ward, RN and son, Dr. Richard Walter and his wife, Melissa, treasured grandchildren, Karen Adinolfi, Kimberly and Sofia Kenyon-Windstam, Tricia and James Burmeister, Earl “Duke” Walter and Tera, Christopher Ward, Christian and Beth Walter, Abigail Walter, Tucker Walter and Tanner Walter, nephew and niece, Bill and Susan Drewes, and ever loyal friend, Loretta Smailes. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren with another arriving soon. Eileen is also survived by countless other friends and extended family whom she loved.
Eileen’s first love was her family. She also greatly enjoyed reading, traveling, listening to classical music and opera, walking on the beach, laughing, dancing, having fun with friends and living life large. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generous spirit and was a love light to everyone she met. She was a wonderful example of how to treat others and this is her legacy to her family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, from noon to 2 p.m. at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 7820 38th Ave. N. St. Petersburg, Fla., with a memorial service at 2 p.m. The family requests all donations be sent to the charity of their choice.
