John Hoggatt
John Paul Hoggatt, 67, Iola, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
John was born June 1, 1945, in Independence, the son of Clyde John and Hazel Irene (Jones) Hoggatt. He graduated from Yates Center High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He lived in California before returning to Kansas.
On March 2, 1974, he married Marcia Franklin and they made their home in Yates Center and Iola. He worked for Thompson Poultry, IGA grocery and Klein Tools before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Hoggatt; four sons, Steven Hoggatt, Newton, James Hoggatt, Iola, Carl Hoggatt, Chanute, and Clyde Hoggatt, Lawrence; and two daughters, Elizabeth Hoggatt, Lawrence, and Mary Hoggatt, Iola.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mildred.
Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
